Herp Amp Conservation Societies

Arkansas Herpetological Society (AHS)

FieldHerpers is currently hosted by our sister site (SoA) and Arkansas Herpetological Society (AHS) . The AHS is a nonprofit organization that was re-established in 2004. The society works in conjunction with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission and has the following goals:

The AHS is NOT a herpetocultural society (though we encourage the keeping of unprotected native herpetofauna for educational purposes).

Membership

There is currently no formal membership (or associated membership dues) required to participate in AHS activities . We only ask that members register on the Forum so they can participate in online discussions and receive occasional email reminders of upcoming events.

Events

The AHS currently hosts 2 or more field trips each year. These are typically scheduled for early spring and mid-fall when reptile and amphibian activity is at its greatest. Everyone is invited to participate!

The last field trip took take place Friday-Sunday, May 4-6, 2007 on the Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge in
Ashley, Bradley, and Union counties, Arkansas.
The next field trip is TBA.
